  • 1967: Bland Garvey & Co. founded by Jim Bland and John Garvey offering North Dallas businesses an option from driving downtown for accounting, tax, and consulting services.
  • 1970: Bland Garvey & Co. becomes a leader in guiding physicians through tax implications of Texas legislation allowing physicians to incorporate
  • 1975: Flexible work hours adopted to accommodate an all-female staff
  • 1975: Retirement Plan services added to allow businesses an option to provide employee benefits and also save for their own retirement
  • 1981: Susan Medlock & Patti Eads became the first women shareholders
  • 1986: Audit and assurance services began
  • 1992: Firm celebrates 25 years
  • 1996: Mike Deppe merges practice and dedicates time to educating CPAs on annual tax updates
  • 1996: Firm name changed to Bland, Garvey, Eads, Medlock + Deppe, PC (BGEM+D)
  • 1997: After 30 years of service, Jim Bland retires
  • 2000: Lisa Windlinger becomes a shareholder (Audit)
  • 2000: BGEM+D joins PrimeGlobal (Association of Independent Accounting Firms) in order to deliver global resources to clients
  • 2004: John Garvey, Jr. and Lori Eads become shareholders
  • 2004: Dallas Child honors BGEM+D as North Texas best family-friendly company
  • 2005: Bland Garvey Wealth Advisors formed and joins Buckingham Strategic Partners
  • 2005: After 27 years of service, Patti Eads retires
  • 2005: Firm goes paperless and implements remote work
  • 2013: After 16 years, Mike Deppe retires
  • 2013: Firm changes name to Bland Garvey, PC reflecting the original firm name
  • 2017: After 50 years, John Garvey retires and the firm is passed down to the next generation.
  • 2017: Firm celebrates 50 years
  • 2018: Brian Howell becomes a shareholder
  • 2018: First awarded for the Best of Accounting Client Satisfaction by ClearlyRated (also awarded 2019, 2020, 2021.)
  • 2020: During the Pandemic, Bland Garvey navigates clients through the changing landscape of government stimulus, loans, & tax credits
  • 2020: After 47 years of service, Susan Medlock retires
  • 2022: INSIDE Public Accounting recognizes Bland Garvey as a 2022 IPA Top 500 Firm
  • 2022: Named Best Firm to Work For by Accounting Today for our tenth year
